Municipal Engineering Services

Sweetland Engineering has served municipalities in central and northern Pennsylvania for over thirty years.  Our Municipal Services/Environmental Team has provided our municipal clients with a wide variety of engineering services.  An example of these services include the following:

The Boroughs, Townships, and Municipal Authorities whom we have served over the past thirty years have ranged from the most rural communities to the more urban ones.  We feel comfortable and confident in serving your specific engineering needs.  Most certainly, we place the Client's best interests in mind, and we tailor our services to meet your needs.  For example, we can provide highly interactive services such as engineering consultation and attendance of all meetings, or we can provide services on an "as-needed" basis.

Sweetland Engineering has extensive experience in project management of CDBG, PENNVEST, and FMHA funded projects.  These projects typically include design, bid document preparation, bidding assistance, bid evaluation, project construction inspection, and contract management.

We have been involved in community development work for many years.  During this time, the firm has prepared successful grant applications and provided on-going expertise in the administration and implementation of these  programs.

Our firm emphasizes the close relationship between planning and development.  Grants have been obtained as a result of a careful planning process designed to achieve maximum use of funds through leveraging and public/private partnerships and appropriate user funds.  Sweetland has prepared numerous successful CDBG and HUD Small Cities Applications under the competitive program and over the last seven years have handled Entitlement Application procedures for a number of counties and municipalities.

We have substantial experience both in providing direct administration of CDBG programs and providing various levels of consulting services to county and municipal grantees.  Over the last ten years we have worked with a number of grantees under the Small Cities and CDBG program providing advice and assistance on various administrative aspects of these programs.  These services have ranged from a simple review of reports and basic monitoring activities to a fairly intense level of report preparation, liaison with DCED, program compliance, preparation of internal documents and reports and budget preparation and development.
